Ram Chandra Paswan was a senior politician of Lok Janshakti Party (LJP). A four-time MP, he was first elected in 1999. In May 2019, he was again elected to the Lok Sabha from Samastipur in Bihar for the fourth time on a LJP ticket. He served the party in various capacities and was one of the popular leaders from Bihar.
Paswan was born in a Dalit family on 1st January 1962 in Khagaria, Bihar. He entered the Lok Sabha in 1999. He was again re-elected to the Lok Sabha in 2004 and then again for the third time in 2014. At the time of his death, he was representing Samastipur constituency of Bihar in the Lok Sabha on LJP ticket. The younger brother of Union minister Ram Vilas Paswan, he died at the Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital in New Delhi due to cardiac arrest. He was 56. Ram Chandra Paswan is survived by his wife Sunaina Kumari, two sons and a daughter. His death was mourned by politicians across party lines.
